1. Koby Howard (Chaminade-Madonna)
Standing at 6’0 and 180 lb the Penn State commit is an elite route runner that creates space against anybody and everybody. Howard put his ability to create separation on display all last season with 106.5 Y/G and 8 total touchdowns receiving for Western High school. He is a complete reciever in terms of footwork, types of catches, etc. He has good measurements for his position which makes him an even more valuable asset. A close race but Howard gets this spot by the thinnest of margins.
2. Joshua Moore (West Broward)
Standing at 6’4 Moore is one of the top receivers not just in Florida but the entire country. His physical attributes make him a nightmare for opposing DBs and a dream target for any QB because of his physicality off the line with his ability to make all catches contested or not. The University of Florida commit put up 835 yards last season and 9 receiving touchdowns for West Broward High School. We are expecting a monster season with plenty of highlights from Moore this year.
3. Cortez mills (Homestead)
Cortez is one of the most explosive athletes on this list with his ability to step on the gas and go from 0-100 in almost an instant. The prolific deep threat committed to the University of Oklahoma creates huge problems for defenses in open space as well, he averaged 103.3 Y/G and 1136 Total yards last season for a Homestead team that went the distance versus St. Thomas Aquinas in their state championship matchup. Mills is good for one snap where he takes the top of the defense and. The other piece of that is how much his threat opens up the rest of the passing game for his QB and wideouts who can find spots to get quick easy gains.
4. Nae’shaun Montgomery (Central)
With a 6’2 175 lb frame Montgomery measurables are a strong suit of his. A high-level wide receiver with sticky hands, the high major recruit is able to create space and give whatever QB is throwing to him a nice window. But what really makes Montgomery special is his after-the-catch ability being able to create tons of extra yardage for his team. Montgomery’s mix of speed and stature make him overwhelm opposing coverages. Centrals WR 1 is a major threat in the long ball game as well.
5. Kamare Williams (Palm Beach Central)
Williams is another 6’4 athlete that gives his QB a big target with tons of room for error on throws. After the catch Williams doesn’t have blazing speed but is powerful and can break a few tackles on his way to extra yardage. Last season he totaled 695 yards and 6 TD’s last season for a very solid Palm Beach Central team, which ultimately brings him to closing out the top 5.
6. Cameron Sapp (Palmetto)
The Palmetto High school product has a burner. Sapp acceleration is what separates him from his opponents with his ability to take the top off the defenses and cause major disruption to team’s coverages. Sapps numbers don’t jump out like some of the others on this list but his intangible advantages athletically make him a no brainer for a spot here on top of being a lead reciever on a team without another pass catcher of his calliber, requiring him to work harder for openings.
7. Kha’leal Sterling (Central)
Another Central pass catcher makes the list. Sterling is a 3-star committed to the University of Pittsburg that provides a ton of value to this Rockets team. An elite route runner Sterling can create space almost at will with his elite level explosiveness. Sterling shares a field with some top talent which means he has to share targets. But regardless of his stats, his athletic ability and hands make him so valuable for Central and team he is apart of.
8. Kyle Washington ( Chaminade-Madonna)
Washington is part of a stacked receiver room at Chaminade so his targets do suffer which in turn affects the rest of his stats, but make no mistake he is one of the best receivers in the state because of his ability to go from 0-100 in one step and create tons of post catch yardage with his speed and slithery nature.
9. Kenny Williams (Gulliver Prep)
The Senior Technician committed to Florida International University is a true surgeon of the line. Will 1-2 you to death and once that space has been created, he will make even the most difficult of catches. Williams put up 733 Yards total last season on a good Gulliver prep team last season and we expect that to be the floor for him from here on out.
10. Jade Card (Norland)
The Norland star stands tall at 6’3 and is an overall great pass catcher. He makes any catch at a high level with enough speed to create windows for his QB. Card ended last season with 785 yards and 10 touchdowns. A smooth route runner with a taste for theatrics Card is showtime on a prominant Florida Football program. Excited to see what card has in store this year.
